How are we already this far into Blogtober? I feel like it’s flying by! You may remember last week that I wrote about my morning routine during the Autumn, so today I thought I’d share my night routine!
The first thing I do in the evenings is try to create a cosy atmosphere, so I’ll turn on my lamps and fire instead of my overhead light. I find that’s it’s so much easier to relax in the dim and warmly lit room.
Next, I’ll take my makeup off with Bioderma’s micellar water, followed by a gel cleanser and PIXI Glow Tonic. I’ll also change into my PJs and tie my hair up. I’ll usually do a sheet mask, especially as the weather gets colder – my skin needs that moisture!
I’ll then brew a cup of chamomile tea. I try to avoid coffee in the evenings as I find it can stop me from sleeping, but if I have an essay due you can bet I’m drinking ALL the coffee regardless of the time!
Before I settle down for the evening, I spray my pillow with a lavender-scented sleep spray. I’ve done this since I was a child, and it’s my number one tip for getting a peaceful night’s sleep!
I try to avoid my phone in the evenings. I find that it’s easier to unwind and disconnect when I turn it off, although sometimes I’ll check my emails or the odd notification (Nobody’s perfect, right?).
I always read or watch a movie to unwind. Sometimes I’ll watch a mindless sitcom or documentary, depending on my mood. Reading is usually my go-to though, especially in the colder months. Sometimes if I’m feeling particularly stressed I’ll watch some ASMR videos on youtube to relax as much as I can before I fall asleep.
So that’s an average evening in my life! I love Autumn nights in front of the fire, don’t you?
